Description

Milestone about 10 metres north of The Thatches is a Grade II listed milestone from the early 19th century. It is made of limestone and features a half-round top with incised lettering on the front. The inscription reads "MAIDEN BRADLEY" curved around the top, followed by "2" and "FROME 8". The road from Mere to Maiden Bradley was turnpiked between 1754 and 1756.
