Description

This is a row of 18th-century buildings, altered in later times, designed in a similar style to numbers 2 to 12 on the same street. The buildings are two storeys high and relatively low. They have a modern concrete tile roof with one brick chimney and a second chimney positioned along the ridge. The walls are of red brick in English bond. Numbers 14 and 16 feature a brick dentil eaves cornice and ground floor relieving arches. Number 18 has a rendered facade. Numbers 14 and 16 each have a single range of tripartite windows, with a central sash window; number 14 retains its original glazing bars. Number 18 has two ranges of windows with modern wooden mullion and transom casements that replaced a previous shop front. Cut stone brackets support moulded stone hoods, and numbers 14 and 16 have relieving arches over their six-panel doors. Number 18 includes a central modern doorway with a plain modern door.
