Description

The outbuildings to the south-west of The Plough Inn consist of two coach houses and a barn, dating from the late 18th century with some 19th-century alterations and additions. They are constructed of squared and coursed rubble, featuring segmental-headed brick voussoirs on the street front, while the rear ranges are limewashed coursed rubble with some brickwork. The street section and the rear coach house have double Roman tiles, whereas the barn is covered with stone slates. The buildings form an irregular L-shaped plan around the inn's courtyard, with the coach house now serving as garages, and the barn and another coach house located at the rear. There are plank doors and steps leading up to the loft in the barn. These outbuildings are included mainly for their group value with The Plough Inn.
