Description

The former outbuildings to the Coachman Inn, known as Coachman Cottages, consist of a coach-house, stables, and workshops with lofts above. These structures date from the late 18th century and have undergone some alterations in the 20th century. They are built from squared sandstone and topped with a pantile roof. The building is one and a half stories tall and features an eight-bay range, with the two central bays gabled and projecting. To the right, there is an elliptical coach-arch made of quoins and voussoirs. The central bays now contain 20th-century garage doors beneath elliptical arches of voussoirs, with a board lifting door above. The bays on the left serve as domestic accommodation and feature 20th-century doors and small-pane fixed windows. The windows have painted stone sills, and all openings are topped with heavy plain lintels. The gables are coped.
