Description
This is a house, now divided into three cottages, located in Manningford Bruce. It dates from the 18th century. The construction utilizes brick facing on malmstone footings. Originally a single-story building with an attic, it was later raised to two stories. The building consists of three bays. The two left bays, now numbers 1 and 2, feature stone-mullioned windows with two and three lights. A central stack is present. The right bay, cottage number 3, is a later addition from the late 18th century, bearing incised brick marking "IK 1793". It has a plat band and brick dentilled eaves. A keyed flat-gauged arch sits above the ground floor window, while the right side displays stone raised quoins. A door has been inserted into the earlier block, and a corner stack is present. A 20th-century replacement window of the door is located at the left end of cottage number 1. Large extensions dating from the early 20th century have been added to the rear and right end, incorporating an entrance lobby for cottage number 3.
