Description
Abbotts Mill is a watermill and house located in Manningford, dating from the early to mid 19th century. The building is constructed of brick and features slate roofs, with the upper floors of the mill being rebuilt in the early 20th century. The house consists of two sections and is two stories high, featuring 16 and 12-pane sash windows with stone wedge lintels. An extension on the left side includes a central door in a glazed porch and matching windows, likely replacing an earlier increase of the mill from four to five bays into the right bay of the house. The mill itself is three stories tall, with most of it rebuilt except for the arch over the millrace. It has iron-paned hinged windows with segmental brick heads and three loading doors, one on each floor, located in the left bay. As of August 1985, the mill is being used for storage.
