Description
The Woolpack Inn, also known as Court Hall, is a 19th-century building constructed in 1854. It is a two-storey structure with an ashlar front and a single bay, featuring single-storey side wings that were originally intended for a magistrates' court and later converted into a public house.
On the ground floor, there are three grouped round-headed windows in the center, each with raised surrounds, panelled aprons, and keys. Flanking the windows are doorways with struck voussoirs, although the doorway to the right is blocked. The first floor has a moulded string and cill course, with a tripartite window in the center, adorned with panelled pilasters and a segmental pediment. The sash windows are fitted with plate glass. The first floor also features draughted side piers, a frieze, and a cornice, with a moulded cast iron gutter that returns to the left and right.
A decorative panel above the single-storey wing to the right displays the word "Hall" in raised letters, while a similar panel on the left has been replaced by three modern casement lavatory windows.
