Description

No. 61B on Castle Street is an early to mid-19th century detached villa. It stands two storeys high and is constructed of painted brick, featuring a stone cill course, frieze, cornice, and parapet on the first floor. The building has three windows with late glazed sashes, each topped with brick flat arches. A round-headed doorway is set within an arched recess, complete with a plain fanlight and a half-glazed door that has a reeded lintel. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, and there are two brick chimneys. This property, along with Nos. 51 to 60 (consecutive), 60A, and 62 (Castle House) and the Court House, forms a group of buildings of architectural significance.
