Description
Nos 52 and 53 on Castle Street are a pair of late 18th century to early 19th century buildings. They are constructed of red brick with some English bond and stand three storeys high with a basement or cellar. The windows are irregularly spaced, with three on the second floor and two each on the first and ground floors, featuring three-light casements. The buildings have a double Roman tile roof with gable end stacks. The doorways are ledged and are coupled in the centre with stone lintels. These properties are part of a group that includes Nos 51 to 60 (consecutive), 60A, 61B, No 62 (Castle House), and the Court House. No 51 is noted for its local interest.
