Description
The Manse is a late 18th or early 19th century house situated on a street corner. The front and left gable are finished with scribed cement rendering, while the back and right gable are limestone rubble. It has a Welsh slate roof. The building has a long, narrow plan, running back to Balcony Cottage on The Square.
The house is two storeys and an attic, with four windows to the front. These windows are 12-pane sashes, each with a moulded architrave. The ground floor to the left has no window. A 6-panel part-glazed door sits between the second and third windows, sheltered by a flat stone hood with a moulded edge, supported by curved consoles. The left gable features 9-over-12-over-16-pane sashes, and a 19th-century panelled door is located on the left side. The right return has a small casement window to the attic, a 16-pane casement to a projecting section, a three-light casement window low down on the right, and a pair of 20th-century French doors. Coped gables are topped with late 20th-century brick stacks and late 19th-century terminals. It appears that The Manse once included part of what is now Balcony Cottage. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
