Description

Blue Rider is a house and shop located on the north side of Salisbury Street. It dates from the 18th century or earlier and is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a plain tile roof and a brick stack on the left side. The building has two storeys and features two windows. On the first floor, there are 9-pane sash windows positioned at the outer wall face and offset to the right in the facade. The ground floor has two 4-pane casement windows flanking a part-glazed door, with an entrance to the right leading to a plank door that opens into a through-way. Although the interior has not been inspected, the offset window arrangement and the steep, long roof slope suggest that the building may have origins earlier than its current front appearance indicates.
