Description
There are two chest tombs located in the churchyard, 3 meters west of the west end of the Church of St John. These tombs date from the early 19th century and are made of buff brickwork with limestone tables and bases, featuring panelled sides. The northern tomb has an incised oval on its side that contains an inscription for Mary Jane Horne, though the date of her death is illegible. The southern tomb is similar and commemorates Robert Horne, who died in 1810, with additional inscriptions for Thomas, who died in 1826, and their parents, Alice and Roger, who both died in 1819.
