Description
Church Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse that was altered in the 19th century. It is constructed of dressed limestone with a tiled roof and brick stacks. The building is two stories tall with attics and features a two-window south front. On the right side, there is a half-glazed door and a three-light casement window. The cross wing on the left has a 19th-century canted bay window on the ground floor, a two-light casement on the first floor, and a blocked chamfered light in the attic. To the left of the cross wing, there is a planked door. The first floor also has two-light casements. The left side of the building features 20th-century casements. At the rear, there is an integral outshut with a three-light leaded casement and a wooden casement, along with a raking stone buttress. The rear of the cross wing has two two-light casements on the first floor, and a two-light recessed hollow-chamfered mullioned casement in the attic. The gabled wing to the left has a 20th-century two-light casement and a two-light ovolo-mullioned casement on the first floor, as well as a two-light hollow-chamfered mullioned casement in the attic. There is also a lean-to extension from the 19th century on the left with a slate roof. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey in October 1986.
