Description

The Old Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse, now a detached house. It has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The farmhouse is constructed of chequered flint and limestone, with a tiled roof and a brick stack to the left. The building is in an L-shape. The front elevation has two storeys and two windows. A central 6-panelled door is covered by a flat wooden hood supported on brackets, with a 3-light 19th-century casement window on either side, and a chamfered stone fire window to the left. The first floor has two 2-light 19th-century casement windows. Attached to the right is a former outhouse, now incorporated into the house, featuring a 20th-century dormer window. The left return side shows a lean-to extension and a 2-light casement window to the attic. The rear of the house has an 18th-century outshut, a 6-panelled door, and 20th-century casement windows to the right. A two-storey wing is located to the left, with 20th-century casement windows, light timber framing, and a hipped tiled roof. The interior features chamfered beams with ogee stops and an open fireplace in the room to the left of the entrance. This fireplace has a chamfered lintel on chamfered stone jambs, along with 4-panelled doors.
