Description
Pitts Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 18th century, with an extension added in the early 20th century. It is constructed of dressed limestone and features a tiled roof with brick stacks at the gable ends. The building is designed in an L-plan and has two storeys with four windows across the front. There is a planked door located to the right of the centre, which is sheltered by a latticed wooden porch. To the left of the door is a three-light casement window, and to the right is a four-light casement window. On the first floor, there are four three-light casement windows. The left side of the building is windowless, although a former steeper roofline is still visible. The rear of the farmhouse has three-light casement windows and is made of rubble stone. There is also a two-storey early 20th-century rear wing constructed of brick, with a lean-to on the right side. Inside, the entrance hall features a reused beam and there are some six-panelled and planked doors. This farmhouse was part of the Duke of Westminster's Fonthill estate until the 1940s.
