Description
The gate piers, gates, and overthrow of the former No. 62, associated with the College of Sarum St Michael, date from the 18th century. They feature tall square ashlar piers with rusticated quoins, moulded caps, and stone balls. The wrought iron gates are complemented by a plain late 18th-century flat arched overthrow that includes a lamp holder made of wrought iron. These gates are positioned directly opposite the west door of the Cathedral. The listed buildings in the Close create an exceptional group.
