Description
The gate piers, gates, and overthrow located approximately 200 meters northeast of the Church of St Mary date from the early 19th century. They are constructed of ashlar and feature wrought iron gates and an overthrow. The structure includes two square piers with plinths and top bands, topped with low domed pyramidal copings. The vehicle gates curve down to the center and are designed with arrow-headed uprights and spike dog-bars. The pedestrian gate to the right has plain uprights and dog-bars. A high round overthrow, which includes a round lamp-holder, rests on a spiral that sits on the pier copings and extends to the pier bands, with a smaller incurving spiral on each side.
