Description
Shippons to Manor Farm is a pair of agricultural buildings dating from the mid-19th century and late 19th century, located with their gable end facing the road. The first building, constructed of diaper brick with a slate roof, consists of five bays and includes a hay loft. It features a central stable door flanked by two slatted openings, all topped with 230 mm brick arches, blue half-brick flush hoods, and keystones. The gables have moulded kneelers, and there is a pitching hatch above the door. The upper courses of this building have been rebuilt. Attached to the left is a later 19th-century two-bay cow house made of red brick with a slate roof. This structure includes a stable door, a ventilation window, and a gabled pitching door leading to the loft, with all openings featuring bullnosed jambs and radial segmental brick heads. Inside both buildings, there are later blockwork feeding troughs and run-out chamfered cross beams in the earlier building. Additionally, there is a rear feed drop from the loft. The site has group value with an animal house located to the north-west.
