Description
Hatch Manor is a detached house dating from the mid-17th century. It is constructed of dressed limestone with a tiled roof, featuring gable end stone stacks that have moulded cappings and pitched coped verges. The house is two stories tall with an attic and has a three-window front. The central entrance is a round-arched doorway flanked by sidelights, with a three-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement on either side. There is a moulded string course at the first floor level, with three-light mullioned casements on either side of a four-light mullioned casement. The roof includes three hipped dormers from the 20th century, which have steel casements.
On the left side of the building, there is a 20th-century round-arched doorway leading to the basement, along with a two-light mullioned casement with a hoodmould on the ground and first floors, and a blocked single light in the attic. The right side features a single-storey extension from the 1970s, built in dressed limestone and matching the style of the original house.
At the rear, there is a basement with a round-arched doorway and a three-light mullioned casement with a hoodmould to the left. The central section has a three-storey gabled stair turret with three-light and two-light mullioned casements, both featuring hoodmoulds. The ground and first floors on either side have three-light mullioned casements, with hoodmoulds on the ground floor.
Inside, the manor has chamfered beams with stepped stops. The room to the right of the entrance features full wainscot panelling and an ovolo-moulded stone fireplace surround, while the room to the left has a Tudor-arched stone fireplace surround. The winding stairs in the stair turret were renewed in the 1970s, and the first floor includes chamfered stone fireplace surrounds.
