Description
Hatch Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with an addition from the early 18th century. It is constructed of dressed limestone and features a tiled roof with brick and stone stacks. The building has an L-plan layout, with the 17th-century range to the east and the 18th-century wing to the west.
The front of the 18th-century range is two storeys high and has two windows. There is a planked door to the right and two 3-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements on both the ground and first floors. The 17th-century range to the right includes a single-storey wing that has a 20th-century porch and a planked inner door on the right return. This range also features 3-light and 2-light mullioned casements.
At the rear of the 17th-century range, there is a blocked doorway, a 4-panelled door, and two 3-light mullioned casements on both floors. The 18th-century range and rear wing have a blocked window and wooden casements. Inside, the farmhouse has chamfered beams, though these have been altered in the 20th century.
