PURTON CHURCH END Group of 6 Bathe monuments, 3m east of east end, Church of St Mary

GV II

Six chest tombs in row. Late C18 and C19. Limestone and standstone. From north to south:

a. Moulded table and base. Recessed corner balusters. Oval panel with inscription to RICHARD BATHE, died 1852, and family. b. Similar. To ANTHONY BATHE, died 1809, and family. c. Gothic corner pilasters and slightly hipped table, to JOHN BROWN, died 1860, and family. d. Tomb as a. but fluted balusters and reeded table fascia, to JAMES BATHE, died 1798. e. As a. to JOHN BATHE, died 1798. f. As c. to WILLIAM BATHE, died 1868, and ANTHONY BATHE, died 1856.
