Description
A group of six chest tombs is located in a line, 7 to 22 meters south of the nave of the Church of St. Peter in Broad Hinton. These tombs date from the 18th and 19th centuries and are made of limestone.
From north to south, the tombs are as follows: a. The first tomb has a chamfered table and base and is dedicated to Cornelius, who died in 173?. b. The second features a moulded table and base with recessed fluted balusters, commemorating William and Elizabeth Bradford, who both died in 1783. c. The third tomb also has a moulded table and base, with recessed corner balusters and fielded side panels, dedicated to Richard Bradford, who died in 1800. d. The fourth features a moulded table with incised end pilasters, honoring Rev. Thomas Wansburgh, who died in 1736. e. The fifth has a moulded table and base, with an inscription between trumpeting angels, commemorating Thomas Ody, who died in 1789. f. The final tomb has a moulded table with fielded side panels, dedicated to Edward Seager, who died in 1811.
