Description

Nos 142 and 143 in the Village Centre of Broad Hinton are a house and bakery that have been converted into two cottages. They date from the late 18th century and are constructed of chalkstone with a slate roof that replaced the original thatch around 1920. The building is two storeys high and has two bays, featuring a lobby entry plan. There are later extensions at both ends and at the rear that include additional entrances. The first floor has casement windows, while the ground floor features tripartite timber windows set within brick arched openings. The roof is half hipped, and there is a central brick stack. Notably, No 143 was formerly a bakery.
