Description
Broad Hinton Primary School is a church school built in 1864. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features an asbestos slate roof. There is a 20th-century brick extension with concrete tile hanging. The school has two classrooms arranged at right angles, with a third classroom located to the right of a projecting porch. The entrance is through an open porch that has buttresses and a belltower, which is supported by four buttresses and features a spire above an open bell. Below the front buttress, there is a carved angel corbel. The building includes two and three-light arch-headed windows, one of which has a stone transom and a dedication tablet above it on the right gable. There are label mouldings above the windows and raised end gables. A stack is present on the right classroom, with a flying buttress connecting it to the main range. The design is picturesque. The 20th-century extension on the left includes a secondary entrance. The interior has been ceiled.
