Description

STOURTON WITH GASPER STOURHEAD PARK ST 73 SE (south side) 6/157 Icehouse approximately 100m south- south-east of Stourhead House GV II Icehouse. Probably early C19, for Hoares of Stourhead. Brick- lined under turf, with restored English garden wall bond brick facade. Semi-circular headed opening to barrel-vaulted short passage leading to storage chamber, Circular, double-cone shaped chamber, brick-lined and about 7 metres deep. Good surviving example, restored by National Trust 1983.
