Description
Zion Baptist Church, formerly known as Grove Meeting House, dates from the late 17th century, around 1698, and is recognized as the oldest Nonconformist Church in Bradford. The church is constructed of ashlar stone and features a modern pantile roof that is hipped at one end. It has a moulded stone eaves-cornice and six windows arranged over two levels.
The upper windows consist of four casements with square heads, moulded stone mullions, and single transoms, while the two central windows have semi-circular heads and glazing bars. The lower windows are also casements, featuring moulded stone mullions and transoms. There are square-headed doorways at each end of the facade, each surrounded by deep roll bolection moulding and topped with a flat cornice. A weathered string course runs above the lower windows.
