Description

The buildings at 47 and 48 Newtown are a pair of houses dating from the late 17th or early 18th century. They are two storeys high with attics in two gabled forms. Each house originally had two windows to the upper floor, with sashes retaining original glazing bars. The ground floor window of number 47 is a casement window featuring original stone mullions and dripmoulds. Number 48 has a porch with a deep, rounded bolection moulding around the door opening. The roofs are covered with stone tiles, and the eaves project between the gables. The buildings are part of a group with numbers 38 to 49.
