Description

A pair of houses, built in the 18th century and originally one dwelling, now located on the north side of Newtown. The buildings are constructed of ashlar and have slate roofs, topped with a moulded cornice and parapet featuring coping stones. A plain sill band runs horizontally across the front. There are six windows in total, arranged in pairs with simple centre mullions, all with sash windows and mostly containing glazing bars. The left-hand side of the front elevation features a front door and a small fixed window with small panes of glass. The right-hand side has a semi-circular arched doorway, featuring a keystone, impost capitals, and a semi-circular fanlight above the door. To the left of the doorway is a small shop window, and to the right is a sash window. Numbers 38 to 49 form a notable group.
