NEWTOWN (South Side) 1a and gatepiers to left of No 1a

(Formerly listed as No 1A (Priory Close) NEWTOWN and gatepiers to left of No 1A).

GV II C17. Later alterations and restoration. Coursed rubble, stone-tiled roof, eaves, end gable with coping and saddle stone. Two-storey, three windows and circular opening with leaded casement to first floor. Restored stone-mullioned casements to ground floor, later wood casements to first floor. Flat-pointed chamfered stone door opening, ribbed and studded door, elliptical-headed wide archway to left with modern doors. Further to the left are two ashlar gatepiers with triangular pediments on four sides at top. Also a side doorway with parapet and coping over. Four-panel wooden door.

Priory Lodge with its boundary walls, the Priory Barn and Nos 1A to 3 (consec) form a group.
