Description
White Hazel is a pair of estate cottages that have been combined into one building, constructed in the late 19th century for General Pitt-Rivers. The exterior is made of flint with brick bands and features an ornamental tiled roof with groups of four diagonally-set stacks. The building is single-storey with an attic and has three windows. There are two planked doors on either side, five single cast-iron latticed casements, and three 2-light cast-iron latticed casements in the gabled dormers. The right side has a 2-light casement on the ground floor and one in the attic, both with hoodmoulds. The rear includes planked doors and a 3-light latticed casement in the central projecting bay, with one on either side. The first floor features a 2-light latticed casement in the centre and casements with gabled dormers on either side, all with hoodmoulds. The interior has not been inspected. This building is a good example of an estate cottage.
