Description
The garden walls of the walled garden, located to the north of Rushmore House, date from the early 19th century and are built of Flemish garden wall bond brick. The walls enclose the garden on three sides and feature pitched brick coping. There are four pairs of gate piers, which are made of late 19th century ashlar or a combination of ashlar and brick, topped with a stone cornice, frieze, and ball finials. The gates are made of cast iron. Two pairs of piers with one set of gates and flanking railings provide framed views over Cranborne Chase from the garden and the Temple.
