Description
No 28 is a pair of cottages that have been combined into one dwelling. The building dates from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. It features a centre bay constructed of Flemish bond brick, with cob on the left side and flint and limestone chequers on the right. The roof is half-hipped and thatched, with brick stacks. The structure is two storeys high and has three windows across the front. There is a planked door to the left and two 20th-century six-panelled doors to the right. The windows include a 2-light leaded casement and two 3-light casements, with a top-hung window on the right. On the first floor, there is a leaded Venetian window in the centre and two steel leaded casements to the right. The left side of the building has a 2-light casement on both the ground and first floors, while the right side has a mix of 2-light and 1-light casements. The rear elevation is made of flint and brick and includes 2-light and 3-light casements. Inside, the right bay features a deeply chamfered beam, and the left bays have chamfered beams with run-out stops.
