Description
Bench's Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick and features a thatched roof with a gable end and brick stacks. The cottage is two stories high and has two windows. There is a 20th-century door located in a gabled porch at the center, with a two-light plastic-framed casement window on either side. A three-brick plat band runs along the first floor, and the eaves were raised in the 19th century, featuring two 1-light plastic-framed casements. The first floor displays lozenge diapering in vitrified headers. A County Insurance plaque is positioned over the porch. The right side of the cottage has a 1-light plastic-framed casement window in the attic. Attached to the left is a 19th-century extension, which has plastic-framed windows and a 20th-century concrete-tiled roof. The interior has not been inspected.
