Description
A pair of early 19th-century terrace houses and a shop, built as one entity. The fronts are solid and rendered, with visible masonry markings. The roof is slate-covered, featuring perforated red ridge tiles and a large rendered chimney running along the centre of the ridge. The building is three storeys high, with a garret space above. Each house is one window wide, with doorways situated at the outer ends of the ground storey. Number 22 has a replica shop window with small panes and original flanking pilasters; its right-hand side features a three-panelled door. The windows throughout are box-framed sash windows, with each window at Number 22 having a single central glazing bar. A bracketed eaves cornice is present at Number 22, while Number 20 has a plain, late 20th-century boxed cornice. Each house also has a small dormer window; Number 20’s is pent-roofed, and Number 22’s is gabled, with a casement window made of small panes of wood.
