Description
Nos. 62 and 64 are a mirrored pair of houses, likely built in the mid-19th century. They have solid rendered walls with some traces of ashlar markings and feature a hipped slated roof. Each gable end has a rendered chimney. The houses are three stories tall with a symmetrical three-window front, where the middle windows are blind.
In the center, there are paired round-arched doorways with six-panelled doors, panelled reveals, and fanlights that have diagonally-set, intersecting bars, topped with semicircular hoodmoulds. Above the doorways is an ogee-shaped canopy. The windows have late 20th-century plastic frames, and at No. 64, the windows have plain hoods on moulded brackets, which are likely a later addition. There is a moulded band just below the sills on the second storey and a deep, flat eaves-cornice that extends around both side walls.
In front of the houses, there is a raised terrace with iron railings featuring spearhead uprights, where each alternate upright is half-size and secured by a middle horizontal rail. Between the two pairs of steps in front of the terrace, there is a round-arched recess designed for a shared shoe scraper.
