Description
Nos. 43 and 45 Castle Street are a pair of mid-19th century houses. They are constructed from flint with gault brick dressings and have a slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high and have a symmetrical design. In the centre of the ground floor, there is a 20th-century panelled door that leads into a central passageway to the rear, which is set under a segmental arch. To the immediate left, there is a 20th-century half-glazed door leading to No. 43, and to the immediate right, a 20th-century door leading to No. 45, both situated under semi-circular arches. Each house features one sash window with 6/6 glazing bars on either side of these doors, topped with segmental arches. On the first floor, there are three 3/6 sash windows under segmental arches. The houses have a dentil eaves cornice and a gabled roof, with internal gable-end stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
