Description
30 Castle Street is a house dating from the early 19th century, which has been re-skinned in brown brick. The construction includes flint, brick, and coursed clunch blocks, topped with a pantile roof. The building has two storeys and is arranged in two bays. A six-panelled door is located to the right, set beneath a plain fanlight. The doorcase features fluted pilasters that rise to block entablatures with roundels, and there is a curved hood that mimics an open segmental pediment. The reveals of the door are panelled. To the left, there is one six-over-six sash window, and on the first floor, there are two six-over-six sash windows, all of which are set under gauged skewback arches. The roof is gabled, and the stack has been removed. On the west return, there are two roundels, with the upper one dated 1888, which may indicate the date of the re-skinning. The interior has not been inspected.
