Description
No. 47 Castle Street is a house dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of flint with gault brick dressings and has a slate roof. The building has two storeys and is arranged in two bays. A six-panelled door is positioned to the right and is topped by a six-vaned fanlight. The doorcase features engaged reeded columns that support a block triglyph entablature and an open pediment. The reveals around the door are panelled. To the left, there is a late 19th-century horned sash window with 2/2 glazing bars, and there are two similar windows on the first floor. The house has a dentil eaves cornice and a gabled roof, with a ridge stack located to the left (west). The interior has not been inspected.
