Description
This drinking fountain, located to the south-east of St Anne's Hall, was built around the 1880s. It is constructed from red brick and Bathstone, featuring a bowl and trough made of Torquay limestone. The fountain has a double-chamfered stone arch with gabled coping and brick footings, positioned above a bowl that has a three-sided projection at the front and a central (disused) fountain. Below the bowl, there is a small rectangular trough for dogs. An inscription on the arch, written in Lombardic script, reads "thou Lord shall save both man and beast..." (with the last words worn out). This fountain is included for its group value with St Anne's Hall on Babbacombe Road.
