Description

This is a public drinking fountain commemorating Lady Mount Temple, built around 1903. It features a statue created by sculptor Arthur George Walker. The fountain is made of Ashburton marble and has a baluster stem with a moulded foot. In the center of the bowl, there is a green basalt cylindrical moulded plinth that supports a small, naturalistic bronze statue of Lady Mount Temple. She was an art collector who resided at the house in Beach Road, which is now known as the Babbacombe Cliff Hotel.
