Description
32 The Terrace is a terraced house, currently used as offices, dating from the 1830s. It has a cement-rendered and blocked-out exterior with a slate roof and no visible stacks. The building is set into sharply sloping ground and features a double-depth plan with a central entrance and a rear right wing.
The exterior is three storeys high with a symmetrical three-bay front. It has a projecting cornice with a blocking course and a Doric porch that includes columns, an entablature, and cast-iron balustrading on top. The entrance consists of a six-panel front door with a plain fanlight above it, and the doorcase has panelled reveals with a Greek key frieze below the fanlight. The windows include 12-pane sashes on the ground floor, 6 over 9-pane sashes on the first floor, and 3 over 6-pane sashes on the second floor.
The interior has been partially inspected, revealing some surviving panelled doors, and there may be other interesting features present.
