Description

The gate piers and gates to Woodend date from the 1860s and are constructed from local grey rock-faced limestone, featuring freestone ashlar quoins. The gate piers are square in section, with a chamfered plinth and corners, topped with oversailing moulded caps that have cushion finials. The timber gates are each divided into four panels, with vertical boarding and a ramped cornice. These features are included for their group value.
