Description
Spring Cottage is an 18th-century cottage, with more recent alterations and extensions. It is built into the side of a hill. The cottage is constructed of random rubble, with a painted exterior, and features a right-hand wing built in stone that replicates the original appearance. Brick quoins are visible on the left side, and there is a brick ridge chimney on the left. The roof is thatched, with three dormers and three windows containing three lights of glazing. A gabled porch, built of modern materials, sits off-centre to the left. To the right, a two-and-a-half-story adaptation incorporates a small dormer, a modern bow window, and a two-story bay and glazed extension to the gable end. The building is included on the heritage register for its group value.
