Description

The Kiosk in Town Gardens is a Grade II listed information kiosk originally built for the Great Western Railway in 1915, although it was erected on its current site several years later. It features a timber frame and a lead roof, and has an octagonal shape with a door located on the south side. The kiosk has framed sectional storey panels that include hinged central lights and segmental glazed fanlights. The roof extends into a wide canopy, adorned with a carved fascia, and rises to an octagonal glazed lantern, which also has a swept roof topped with a ball and spike finial. The original external fence and base were not constructed at this location.
