Description
The gates and piers, railings, wall, and gateway located 20 metres east of Frenchay Manor date from the late 18th century. They are constructed from rubble, cast iron, and wrought iron. The feature includes approximately 20 metres of spear-head railings with urn-shaped newels and linked lower rails, all set on a plinth between pairs of narrow piers that flank matching gates. On the right side, the wall rises to about 2 metres and includes two rusticated jambs with a capped lintel framing a diamond panelled door. The wall then sweeps back to a pair of square, rusticated piers that mark the entrance to the stables.
