Description
This listing describes the piers, plinths, gates, and railings located 20 meters east of Frenchay House and Clarendon Lodge in Winterbourne. These features date from the late 18th century to the early 19th century and are made of rubble, freestone, and cast and wrought iron.
A plinth approximately 80 centimeters high extends around 50 meters, supporting spearhead railings that feature urn newels and linked intermediate lower rails. On the left side, the railings end at low piers, while on the right, they curve back to two square piers that have vermiculated rustication and rounded caps. The gates are designed to rise up to palmette heads.
