Description
Cleeve Road Bridge and its abutments are a bridge dating from the 18th century or earlier, with modifications made in the early 19th century. The structure is built from rubble and dressed stone. It is a substantial bridge featuring two spans, each consisting of an earlier lower arch with a keystone and a later higher arch of the same span. The bridge has triangular coping, and its curving, buttressed abutments extend approximately 30 meters to the east and west. The southwest abutment is crossed by a stone stile that includes a central slab, a low step, and flanking higher steps. The mid-stream boundary indicates that the bridge is also located within Kingswood District Council.
