Description

The turnpike boundary post on Cleeve Road Bridge is a boundary marker dated 1823. It is made of cast iron and features a low design with three concave faces and a cornice, although it is now somewhat obscured by tarmac. The central text on the post reads "BRISTOL TURNPIKE TRUST - 1823." One side of the post is inscribed with "MANOR P H," while the other side reads "WINTER P H." This post is set into the parapet wall of Cleeve Road Bridge.
