Description

The structure is a well, cover, and pump located about 4 metres east of Holly Tree Farmhouse, dating from the 18th century. The cover is dated 1776, while the pump is from the 19th century. It is made of limestone rubble and sandstone, with a square sandstone cover measuring approximately 1.5 metres by 1.5 metres. The cover features a central circular hole and rectangular holes on each side for fixing the former pump, which is set on a low rubble plinth. The cast iron pump, which includes a spout and handle, is complete and positioned on two planks over the central hole in the well cover, above the circular shaft.
