Description
The well house and well head pump, located about 10 meters west of Perrywood Farmhouse, date from the mid-19th century. It features a cast iron pump housed in an open timber structure with a tiled roof. The pump mechanism is supported by two A-shaped trestles. A large spoked outer wheel turns on an axle, engaging a smaller cog that connects to a larger cog fixed to the pump. The housing consists of four posts with arched braces to the plates and is topped with a pyramidal roof. This structure is included for its group value.
